  • Our Blogging Rules!

Super7Scoopers is a learning network (not a social network) that begins with Room 7.We hope that others will join our community but expect all members to agree to the rules below...

    * Think before they post. Once something is posted, it can be online forever.

    * Don't post anything they don't want others to know—or that you wouldn’t say to them face to face.

    * Try our hardest to get our SPELLING right

    * Respect their friends too—that ‘funny’ photo of them might not be so funny for them, and they might not be very happy if it is posted for everyone in the world to see.

*Treat others as they would like to be treated.

    * Respect other people’s content. For example, a photo that a friend took is their property, not ours. It can only be posted online if they say it can be.

    * Be RESPONSIBLE when displaying our learning and giving feedback.

    * Keep their personal information private. They don’t share personal details like their name, address or phone number with people they don’t already know in real life.

The Collaboration Continues!

Posted by super7scoopers on November 25, 2010

Skyping has become almost a daily experience in Room 7 at the moment. We are all getting a turn at leading skype sessions with classes from around the country and the world. Our latest skype was with the famous Room 162 who work with Mr Miller in California, USA.

We are slowly putting together a dance that celebrates our learning this year especially our blog, the teachers who have left comments and the collaborative projects we have had running over the year with classes from around the world.

This project has given us even more valuable learning experiences. You see, yesterday Mr Miller recorded his class learning our dance with us on skype. (See the video below.) We could see and hear ourselves from their perspective and decided on our own “next steps” for skyping and giving instructions better. We also realised how hard it must be to learn a dance with the transmission interruptions that come with skype. Having said that, dance has been a fantastic thing to share as we focus on the oral language skills needed to skype well.

We would like to thank Mr Miller and his class for a fantastic session – we had a lot of fun and are really grateful for their help :)

Wow! You guys are fantastic dancers! That looked like so much fun. Was that during gym or music class? At our school, we do a ballroom dancing session during gym. It’s similar to your class but we use slower music. We hope we do a fun dance like yours.
