  • Our Blogging Rules!

Super7Scoopers is a learning network (not a social network) that begins with Room 7.We hope that others will join our community but expect all members to agree to the rules below...

    * Think before they post. Once something is posted, it can be online forever.

    * Don't post anything they don't want others to know—or that you wouldn’t say to them face to face.

    * Try our hardest to get our SPELLING right

    * Respect their friends too—that ‘funny’ photo of them might not be so funny for them, and they might not be very happy if it is posted for everyone in the world to see.

*Treat others as they would like to be treated.

    * Respect other people’s content. For example, a photo that a friend took is their property, not ours. It can only be posted online if they say it can be.

    * Be RESPONSIBLE when displaying our learning and giving feedback.

    * Keep their personal information private. They don’t share personal details like their name, address or phone number with people they don’t already know in real life.

What a Difference Blogging Makes!

Posted by super7scoopers on December 2, 2010

Blogging as a class has lead to connecting with a range of audiences and developing projects with classes worldwide. These connections and projects with other classes has meant that the way we learn has changed a lot this year. We have many teachers and students from other places reading our blog. This has made us focus on our writing, motivated us and given us many new ideas and suggestions that we wouldn’t have just got in our classroom without our blog…

I have learned a lot from blogging. I have been blogging for about a month and a half. I love blogging because it is so fun talking to people and putting things on my own blog.

    Dear Scoopers,

Thanks for creating this edition of your news program. It helps put all the great points of blogging into one nice neat package. My class thought this idea of using video in this way was terrific and now they want to try developing their own program. So thanks for being a great role model and helper to other students.

This blog is put together well. The video seems advanced from other blogs I have looked at. It is neat to hear the New Zealand accent. Your site will certainly make other classes want to try different things and build on their blogs.

    Dear Scoopers,
Thanks so much for mentioning the postcards project. We were so glad that you let us be involved in that. We had a lot of fun learning about St. Clair and loved the poems you wrote for us about Sointula! We also loved out dance lessons :)

Great video students, I love how you are reflecting about your favorite projects. I have my students write a “teacher evaluation” at the end of their time with me and ask for their favorite projects too. Have a great summer holiday.

Hi Super Scoopers. Thanks for the mention. I’ve loved reading your blog this year and watching it progress into something very special. You have out a huge amount of work into it and you are great role models for other students wanting to blog with their class. Hopefully 2011 will see us do a little more collaboration.

Super Scoopers – thank you for leading the way with blogging – you have been a great inspiration to me and the students and teachers I work with. I’ve watched your confidence grow over the year, thanks to your blogging and the awesome connections you have made with people around the world – as well as the guidance from the fabulous MrsBee. And, thank you so much for your caring and concern after the earthquake – it was great to know you were so close in an electronic way :-)

Super scoopers- we have loved looking at your class blog. We’ve been really impressed with what we have seen of your work. We only started blogging in August and have loved it so far. One of the best things has been discovering classes like yours that are further down the track than we are. We have learned from you. Ka kite. Room 10, Paremata School
